Angie Jackson, twitter username antitheistangie, has been live tweeting her abortion in an effort to encourage other women to consider the option of abortion. A video from ABC new gives insight into her perspective into the subject and her justification for abortion.
In the video she makes clear her situation; she had an abortion for a variety of reasons. Her protection (IUD) failed, as it always will eventually, and her doctor had warned her that child-birth could kill her, as it nearly had with the birth of her first child. Calmly, Angie, tells of the safety, normalcy, and practicality of an abortion.
Ever faithful, both sides of the abortion debate are going at it yet again; pro-choice people claiming this was a wonderful motion by young Angie to help spread the wondrous benefits an abortion has the potential to have, pro-life people sometimes going so far as to condemn the woman and call her things I won’t reproduce here.
If Josiah wants to, we might watch the video at the next meeting to give everyone the opportunity to comment.

After Watching this video I imidatly prayed for this confused young woman. It is obvious that she’s been lead astray for a long time and needs our prayers.
I also Google Surched her and found some things out. She was raised in a “fundamentalis cult” (and I quote), and was sexually abused as a child. This woman needs the love of God, not the hateful comments I’ve been seeing thrown at her.

“This woman needs the love of God, not the hateful comments I’ve been seeing thrown at her.”
So true. It’s almost sad to see what some people say, although it’s hard to put the blame on them. Her last words on the video go “I hope everyone on Youtube has a great and godless day.”
I also think it’s interesting how much she emphasizes that she’s not killing a baby.

Great discussion so far. This woman certainly needs the love of God. Keep it going! Here are some questions to consider:
Throughout the video, she emphasizes that having an abortion is “not that scary.” Essentially, she argues that abortion via RU-486 is a painless procedure, much easier to undergo than actually having a child.
Is abortion a painless procedure? Is it easier than pregnancy? Hardly. See: http://www.silentnomoreawareness.org/ .
What facts/stats might you use to refute her argument? (Hint: you may find some in the Health & Safety section of Alcorn’s book.)

About her comment, “not that scary”, hinting that the abortion that she is (was) going through was not painful:
If you look the original artical, and some other’s on the subject, you can see her later twitter posts. She says, “deffinatly bleeding”, “cramps getting stronger now”, and “just threw up”.
So in the video post of course she wasn’t feeling any pain. And unfortunalty, some will only look at that and never bother to look deeper into it.
Also, I’ve read an artical about the ‘abortion pill’ and one woman’s detialed discription of it (who later regreted her chioce), and it is very painful. Unfortunatly, most people will never see that artical, only this woman’s popular video about how “easy” it is…

Yeah, I’ve heard some gross stuff about by-pill abortions. Definitely not something I would ever want to experience physically, moral issues aside.
Did she seriously say “have a great and God-less day” at the end there?

“Did she seriously say “have a great and God-less day” at the end there?”
Indeed. We actually watched and discussed this video instead of doing an icebreaker at the meeting last Saturday.
Mrs. Friedman raised a good point, that had she been persuaded by this woman’s video, the last part would have affected her. For Angie to mention God reveals the underlying conflict between her and God.
